Rúv - Reykjavík

The Icelandic National Broadcasting Service (Ríkisútvarpið, or RÚV for short) is an independent public service broadcaster dedicated to informing, educating, and entertaining the public. With a focus on Icelandic language, history, cultural heritage, dialogue with the public, and quality programming for children and young people, RÚV is committed to providing reliable news service and content of the highest quality. RÚV is managed by an executive board appointed by the Parliament and a management board chaired by the director-general, and its archives are open and accessible to the public. With a history stretching back more than 80 years to regular radio service in 1930 and television broadcasts beginning in 1966, RÚV launched its website RUV.is in 1996.
